Wednesday Morning

9.00 am Manual Handling Course

(including morning coffee)

Course Content Includes:

• Review of Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended)
• Spine and vertebrae structures
• Risk assessment
• Weight limits and guidelines
• Manual Handling Assessment Charts (MAC)
• Common back injuries and their causes
• Safe manual handling techniques
• Employer/employee obligations

1pm to 2pm Lunch

Wednesday Afternoon

2pm to 5.30pm Fire Marshall Course

(including afternoon tea)

Course Content Includes:

• Chemistry of fire
• Classification of fire
• Fire spread
• Basic fire precautions
• Human behaviour in fire
• Selection of and use of fire extinguishers
• Movement in smoke and darkness
• Duties of a Fire Marshal/ Warden
• Company fire and evacuation policy

Thursday

9am to 1pm Emergency First Aid Course (includes Health & Safety Executive Certification)

1pm - 2pm lunch

2pm to 5.30pm Emergency First Aid Course continues

• Basic Life Support
• Examination of a Casualty
